We are mesmerized by Amy Syed’s reworking of “You Go To My Head,” a 1938 song composed by J. Fred Coots with lyrics by Haven Gillespie. Inspired by Billie Holiday’s recording of the song, Syed transformed this classic into a unique rendition that reminds us of Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, and French Impressionist composer Claude Debussy. The track starts with a heavy beat and sidechained bass sound that provide a stark yet lovely contrast to Amy Syed’s jazzy vocals.
