Breach – Jack (Audiobot Bootleg)

When “Jack” was first released last year, it was a track that only diehard ravers and house heads knew about unless you lived in the UK where deep house has a long standing reputation on the edge of the mainstream. This year, however, saw an incredible boost of interest in deep house in the US due to an onslaught of fresh talent that has been able to cross into the mainstream with artists like Disclosure, Kiesza, Clean Bandit and more. This also means that a ton of older tracks are going to be retooled by US based DJs and producers.

This recent track by 22 year old electro and progressive DJ and producer Audiobot based out of Los Angeles is one of the more recent attempts at rethinking Jack which, in all honesty, is a hard track to try and top. Audiobot, however, pays great homage to the forwardness of the original while providing infectious builds and a hard hitting bassline that is worthy of any acid house fueled set. This version also keeps the trancy, bouncy vocal from the original at its heart which gives it a soul and, ultimately, a reason to keep dancing and to keep pleading to the hot people on the dance floor: “c’mon…let’s jack.”

If more DJs and producers from the mainstream US dance scene start to get influenced by this incoming deep house tidal wave, the next year is going to be really interesting.
