Interview with Richard Richard
Back in November, we featured some new music by Milwalkee based DJ/producer/visual artist Richard Galling, aka Richard Richard. Well, we’re really excited to have him guest at BLISS this Saturday (RSVP here and purchase tickets here).
Richard’s productions just keep getting better as he finds more ways to reinvent classic House and Techno sounds. Case in point – check out this bassline in his remix of “Holiday Romance” by Detachments.
Detachments: Holiday Romance (Richard Richard Remix) by Richard Richard
Richard was kind enough to answer some questions for us. We picked his brain about musical influences, Modernism, his studio and more…
Tanner Ross
Tanner Ross became captivated by underground electronic music while in college, and shortly after released productions via Dirtybird, Freerange, Airdrop and Culprit. As his productions naturally led him to DJ’ing, he began regularly spinning and collaborating with Soul Clap, forming Boston supergroup SECT (Tanner Ross, Soul Clap and Sergio Santos) and appearing at London’s Fabric and Berlin’s Watergate. Tanner’s solo career has taken off this year with lush, deep, house and disco releases via !K7, Double Standard, No. 19 and Wolf + Lamb, with a solo album due out on Wolf + Lamb in 2012.
Be sure to check out Tanner Ross at Bliss at U Street Music Hall this Saturday, 11/26 — with Danny Daze, Outputmessage and myself, Lxsx Frxnk.
