Uffe – I’ll Leave Soon
Brand new music video from the most recent signing to the Pets Recordings roster — Uffe Christensen, an Amsterdam-based producer with a penchant for sampling and experimental music. “I’ll Leave Soon” is a simple, beautiful number with a slow build to a warm acid bassline. Have a listen…
Colors Outside, Uffe’s debut release for the label, will be out in early May and will include a remix of “I’ll Leave Soon” by Catz ‘n Dogz.
Volta Bureau – Hot (Live at Subterranean A)
In anticipation of their live debut at U Street Music Hall this Saturday, check out this new video of Volta Bureau performing “Hot” at Subterranean A from this past December. It is, in a word, sensual. DC is certainly in for a treat when the trio hits the club’s stage for the first time this weekend.
You can catch the hometown heros alongside other U Hall mainstays Starks & Nacey and Brian Billion when the venue turns two on Saturday. RSVP for free admission (for 21+) at www.bit.ly/uhall_rsvp. Ages 18-20 can purchase advance tickets here.
Lemaitre – Relativity I EP
Last August, we posted an introductory write-up about Norwegian duo Lemaitre and how they were working on some new tunes for an upcoming album. Since then, they’ve been hitting the web with promo videos and teaser clips to hype their latest record, Relativity I. The EP was finally released this past Friday and seems to have complimented Lemaitre’s production just as expected.
Despite the small record, the quality of the four-track EP seems to weigh it down with ease. Each track is a platform for Lemaitre’s distinctive funk, yet, seamlessly takes a breath to blend in a deep indie moment. The EP definitely serves Lemaitre well as they’ve been known to jump around genres. It couldn’t have been released at a better time as it is quite perfect for these chilly winter nights spent inside with candles and steamy cocoa. Check out the rest of the tracks and purchase the Relativity I on iTunes.
Video for: Lemaitre – Appreciate
In addition to the release, Lemaitre has more exciting news. The duo is currently booking a 2012 tour and is interested in getting visually creative with their live stage performances. They’ve put out a teaser made of light and object animations along with a note stating that they’re looking for some programming help. If you’re an animation techie, feel free to contact them for the opportunity!
Terranova – Hotel Amour EP
Berlin duo Terranova is a recent find of mine, despite them being in the U.K. nightlife for the past 2 years. The group is a collaboration between well-established producers FETISCH and &ME who carry separate experiences in house, techno, and electronica. They’ve influenced Terranova with these tastes as well as with more prominent electronic and acid house.
Terranova’s most recent release was a single titled “I Want To Go Out” on August 22nd. It was their first release under their current record label Kompakt. They are now preparing for two more releases – a two-track album So Strong out December 12th and Hotel Amour out February 27th. In suspense for the Hotel Amour release, they’ve opened streaming for one of its tracks titled “Take My Hand”, a deep house trip that will definitely heighten your senses for the album. Catch the video for ”Take My Hand” below as well as a video for the August release.
Bikini – End of Mars
We introduced you to NYC electronic duo Bikini last year with the release of their debut EP RIPJDS. Since then, they’ve been through quite a bit including releasing a remix version of the EP and planting thousands of trees daily. Today, they kindly released what seems to be a part of an upcoming album – despite being questionably sorted in an old playlist on their website. “End of Mars” is the title of the new track and it seems to continue their style with energetic beats and dusty vocals as heard before, definitely a plus. The track also encompasses an eerily, echoed rhythm that defines a darker side of NYC’s atmosphere. Be sure to keep an eye on them for more news later this year.
In addition to the news above, they released a video for “ACheerlaeder” back in April that I regret not posting, so here it is:
