Live Stream of Simian Mobile Disco’s “Unpatterns”

SMD Unpatterns

This just in…The Guardian is hosting an exclusive stream of Simian Mobile Disco’s new album, Unpatterns, due out May 14 on Wichita Recordings.

Unpatterns marks the third full-length from SMD. The Guardian describes the release as “straight up, play it on the banks of the Spree while necking some Augustiner Hells minimal techno.” Expect some vocals though – “Seraphim” being a great example. For that reason, Unpatterns is a slight departure from the group’s Delicacies series which was an education in driving, straightforward analogue techno.

Love Cubed, the latest release from DC-based electronic trio Volta Bureau, dropped today via Nurvous Records. The uplifting, anthemic original version of the single is perfect for the upcoming summer festival season, while the dub on the flip side is more grooving and laid-back.

Grab both tracks on Beatport and don’t miss the group’s six hour DJ set (which will be recorded live for Sirius XM) at U Street Music Hall on May 5. Click here for tickets and info!

Both tracks from the release are available for preview through Volta Bureau’s SoundCloud

uffe

Brand new music video from the most recent signing to the Pets Recordings roster — Uffe Christensen, an Amsterdam-based producer with a penchant for sampling and experimental music. “I’ll Leave Soon” is a simple, beautiful number with a slow build to a warm acid bassline. Have a listen…

Colors Outside, Uffe’s debut release for the label, will be out in early May and will include a remix of “I’ll Leave Soon” by Catz ‘n Dogz.

Blond:ish – Lovers in Limbo EP

Blondish

Anastascia D’Elene and Vivie-Ann Bakos, aka Blond:ish, have been turning heads lately with releases on Noir and most recently Kompakt — the famed Cologne imprint released Lovers in Limbo in early April. The EP is said to be inspired by a fasincation with “’60s musical movements.”  That sound definitely informs “Lucy’s Affair” which effortlessly blends grooving tech house with late-’60s psychedelia. Here’s a preview…

Snippets from all three tracks on the EP are steaming below, and everything is available for purchase on Beatport. Be sure to keep up with the pair on Facebook and Twitter.
