Les Savy Fav

It recently came to my attention that Les Savy Fav, one of my all time favorites, have yet to be posted on Blisspop.com. The quartet recently released “Let’s Get Out Of Here”, an addicting guitar-driven track that has been on repeat on my ipod all week. Oh, and if you’ve never seen Les Savy Fav live, stop whatever you are doing and buy tickets (I promise you will not be disappointed).

Alvin Risk: Hit Parade

Painted Face – Undreamt (mp3)
One of my sisters debut tracks. The start of something great.

Zombies For Money – Sacanagem (mp3)
Gotta just pick one song at random cause I like all the stuff the
Zombies from portugal have been doing. Cannot loose.

Siriusmo – Einmal In Der Woche Schreien (mp3)
Hopefully this track inspires someone to create a video game based on
how good it is.

Uzi Octapus – Shantyman (mp3)
Cutting edge, fresh, musical AND street. Genius.

Four Four- The Eff We Do (mp3)
Why i LOVE soundcloud. Listen to this crazy shit!

The Radio Dept.  - Never Follow Suit (mp3)
Their latest album ‘Clinging to a Scheme’ is excellent from beginning
to end. Not one bad note.

Niki Minaj ft. Sean Garrett – Massive Attack (mp3)
Motion sick. So much swing it makes some people feel queazy. When the
bridge kicks in i do the rocky pose.

Computer Magic – Running (mp3)
The subtle sounds of a robot and her computer. Awesome.

I Crave Paris – Aeroplane vs Friendly Fires vs Flight Facilities (mp3)
One day… i hope to be as cool as listening to this song makes me feel.

Polkadots 2010 – Oliver Twitz Remix (mp3)
Im putting this track in because it’s responsible for the whole top
row of keys on my laptop no longer working. Never play this late at
night in a dark crowded room full of people.

Outputmessage

Outputmessage is back at it again with a brand new remix of Robyn’s “None of Dem”. This one is most certainly a dance-floor killer and going straight to the top of my summer playlist.

Dragonette

Canadian synth-poppers Dragonotte are fronted by the foxy vixen of a singer songwriter Martina Sorbara and backed on bass, guitar, and drums by her male bandmates: Dan Kurtz, Chris Hugget, and Joel Stouffer respectively. Dragonnet combine remarkably versatile and complex synth layers with loud fuzzy guitar, all driven by unrelenting, bouncing dance beats, to create catchy dance-rock that is smeared with bright red lipstick and dripping with sex appeal. Their sophomore release Fixin’ To Thrill and their subsequent world tour has won them a giant wave of new fans, don’t get left behind, catch a ride and take a listen. Dragonotte will be at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hotel on August 15th.

Cut Copy

With a bit more guitar and a bit less synth, Cut Copy describe their new single “Where I’m Going” perfectly: “[It's] the kind of track Brian Wilson would’ve written if he took ecstasy and hung out in 60′s London instead of California”. The semi-durastic change of pace can be largely attributed to mixer Ben Allen (Animal Collective’s MPP), who is known for his love of ethereal tones and sweeping melodies. Although the band is giving away the single for free, you won’t be able to cop the full album until early 2011.

The Joy Formidable

Welsch trio The Joy Formidable capture the essence of high tempo dance-rock on their debut EP A Balloon Called Moaning. The EP was recorded the band’s basement studio, producing an energy that is often lacking in modern indie-rock. Can’t imagine their live show being anything less than spectacular…
